Pune Metro the lines that defines Pune's Future!

Pune is well known as Queen of Deccan for its scenic beauty and abundant natural resources. Pune is the most industrialized district in western Maharashtra, famous information technology hubs in the city.

Need for Pune Metro: 

The total population in Pune is growing 100% every decade. Creating a lot of air and noise pollution by private and personal transports. Public transport help reduce pollution. Also, experience has shown that the width of the Pune road is small, and the traffic density is high, reducing the speed of vehicles. When traffic density increases, traffic slows down happens, while journey time increases, air, and noise pollution become a strong factor. Provision for rail bases transportation is needed.

Pune Metro Routes 


Line-I: The 16.65-km route of the Pune Metro will run between Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Swargate. With 15 Metro stations, the course will be both elevated and underground. In 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of this line, which is likely to become operational in 2021.

Plans are also underway to extend the line to Nigdi. The route will have three stations, Chinchwad, Akurdi and Nigdi. In 2018, the detailed project report (DPR) for the extension of the Pimpri-Swargate Metro route to Nigdi was approved by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

Line-II: The 14.7-km Line-II of the Pune Metro will run between Vanaz and Ramwadi. With 16 Metro stations, the route will be completely elevated and will connect with Line-I and Line-III at the Civil Court Station. The work on this route is on and is likely to be operational by 2021.

Line-III: The 23.3-km stretch with 23 Metro stations will be the longest route on the Pune Metro running between Hinjewadi and Shivaji Nagar. This route will be constructed in two phases. Modi laid the foundation stone of this project last year.


A consortium formed by Kolkata-based wagon manufacturer Titagarh Wagons with its wholly-owned subsidiary Titagarh Firema SPA won the international bid to supply 102 aluminum coaches to the Pune Metro project. The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha Metro) The first time that aluminum-bodied coaches, which are said to be lighter in weight, more energy-efficient and have better aesthetics.

Roots so deep

Pune is one city that's roots are so deep. Jm road is one such route that run wild in us . Jangali  maharaj road for me usually was for my dental visit which I still hate . But whenever I visited jm road I also felt rooted and simple I also felt very spiritual mind u not religious. The amazing jangali maharaj temple feeling of oneness is unified  along with modern high school one of the oldest teach in Pune. Now off course the place is full of international brands which Feels lost . The connect is there yet not there to meet traditions. Jm road has a culture which blends well with almost anything and is cosmic . Bal Gandharva Rangmandir is a famous Marathi Theatrical Drama Auditorium . We feel so unified and proud to part of this historic society . Jm road for years is always present for Punekars standing low yet stands tall . Wonderful garden 
Sambhaji park has been an entertainment for us with its exhibitions amazing gardens foody joints . Yes the Bhel which is unforgettable . Ooo forgot to mention about the acquarium must check it out . Many commercial places are springing up now a days .. we have Big Mac / donuts / pizza joints all over followed by Mayur a place which level up all traditions . Jm road thank u so much for supporting us for so many years !
